Arrested – Charges
According to court records, in July 2019, the teenager’s mother contacted police to report that Aaron had been speaking to her daughter via Facebook. Police discovered that Lane was a registered se**x offender and had posed as a teenager during his communications with the victim.
During the talk, Lane demanded that the victim take explicit pictures of herself and send them to her. Lane was arrested after making arrangements to meet the victim. During an interview, Lane confessed to communicating with the victim and receiving explicit images of her.
Lane will have to pay a $ 3,000 fine and must serve 20 years of supervised release after his prison sentence. Lane pleaded guilty to the charge on December 7, 2020. As part of the investigation, police seized two cell phones belonging to Lane. A federal magistrate issued a search warrant for cell phones.
An agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) examined the mobiles and located the Facebook and Instagram conversations between Lane and other underage women. A federal magistrate judge also issued search warrants for Lane’s social media accounts. Upon reviewing the accounts, the FBI agent determined that Lane had requested and received se**xually explicit images of several minors.
Judge Winmill also ordered Lane to abandon the electronic devices used in the commission of the crime. As a result of the conviction, Lane will have to register as a se**x offender. This case was investigated by the FBI and the Boise Police Department.
