Trace dropped out from high school in 2006. He then started the rock band Metro Station with Mason Musso. However the band broke up in 2010. He later formed the group Ashland HIGH, and the band is writing songs and is self producing. He still tours with Billy Ray Cyrus. In 2006, Trace co-wrote a song called Country Music Has The Blues. This song featured on the 2006 album of Billy Ray “Wanna be your Joe”. The song features Loretta Lynn and George Jones as guest appearance.
