Aaron Morgan Wiki – Aaron Morgan Biography
Aaron Morgan is a Louisiana man in custody after he allegedly stabbed his grandmother to death, injured his mother and shot three people while trying to steal her vehicles.
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies said Morgan was shot twice by officers when he tried to flee on foot after abandoning his stolen vehicle, WBRZ reported. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will be charged with the murder of 78-year-old Dianne Gafford, among other charges, when he is released from the hospital.
Aaron Morgan is 28 years old.
Agents said Morgan’s spree began Sunday morning at a home in the Wimbledon neighborhood, where Morgan stabbed his grandmother and mother. The mother has not been identified.
After the stabbings, she fled the scene in her grandmother’s car, driving to the nearby Highland Marketplace shopping center, where she tried to dump her grandmother’s car and steal another, KATC reported. He shot a man while trying to steal his truck and two women while trying to take his vehicle, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux. Then he found a moving car with the keys in it and he drove off in that one.
Officers saw him from a short distance and chased him until he left the vehicle and left on foot. When he pointed his gun at the officers, they opened fire, Gautreaux said.
Morgan, who remains hospitalized after being shot after Sunday’s police chase, will now be charged with the death of his grandmother and many other crimes, investigators said.
The man who deputies say killed his grandmother, stabbed his mother and shot three unknown men on Sunday was charged in 2011 with superficial criminal damage to property, court records show.
In that case, he painted graffiti on the side of the bus at Life Tabernacle Church, a probable cause report shows.
In addition to that encounter with the police ten years ago, Aaron Morgan, 28, only had traffic violations on his criminal record at East Baton Rouge parish.
Later, Morgan is charged with leading police in a chase near the corner of Jefferson Highway on Bluebonnet Boulevard. After exiting the vehicle, he allegedly tried to kidnap another person. He then jumped over a nearby fence and pointed a gun at police, authorities said.
Then the officers shot him twice. He was injured and taken to a hospital. No one else was injured in that scene.
The three people who were shot at the mall are in stable condition. He said that after a doctor and nurses from the Ochsner urgent care center in the mall treated them until ambulances arrived.
Police have not indicated a motive for the violence. Gafford would have celebrated his 79th birthday on Thursday.
